Equine Case Study

TABITHA

• 5 yr old Thoroughbred mare
• Placid temperament and very sensitive
• Condition: good/in good health

History

Tabitha has a history of neglect, is very very cautious with emotional scarring. She has had a sarcoid and a recent kick to her off-side flank and near hind lower canon to hoof.

SESSION 1 – 45mins: Energy Balance

Intention: to help relax Tabitha and build trust
Tabitha received an energy balancing session. She was very cautious and wouldn’t accept hands-on healing around her muzzle and the sarcoid scar, and was very sensitive through the off hind.

Areas that were blocked where the energy wasn’t flowing were poll to withers, saddle area to sacrum, left flank,

SESSION 2 – 40mins: Energy Balance

Intention: to continue with helping her to relax and build trust - assist emotional healing. Tabitha was more relaxed and slept at times during the treatment. Her body pulled in more energy and she allowed more hands-on work. There were releases through the near shoulder, hip and loins.

Blocks were still felt from the poll to withers but there was an improvement through the back. The loin area still felt energetically blocked as well as both shoulders and was the energy flow down to the off hind was slow. She received hands-off healing to the near hind, as above.

Overall she was very much more trusting and receptive, and would let me know when to continue.

SESSION 3 – 45mins: Full & Chakra Treatment
Intention: to continue with the above

Tabitha was very receptive receiving Reiki through her head and neck. She received a lot of energy through her wither, chest and through her left scapula. The owner confirmed that there had been a lot of past trauma in this area. She was resistant and wouldn’t allow Reiki to both her hips down. These are also areas of past trauma and were probably starting to surface.

SESSION 4 – 45mins Energy Balance & Chakra Treatment
Intention: as above

Tabitha released with two hiccups at the TMJ (jaw joints) which was felt through the neck. She also had a large release through the top of her neck. Her loins felt hot to start with and cooled down.

What is noticeable during this treatment is that she allowed healing to her left hip which had a major release as follows: abdomen visibly contracted and released for approximately 10mins. She then concertinad her whole body from nose to tail for another major release. Jeanne finished the session as she was resistant to any Reiki to her off side – she probably had done enough release in one day!

Owners Feedback

The owner is more than happy for sessions to continue as she has seen the benefits of the treatments for herself.

Jeanne will be following up Tabitha. She obviously needs more Reiki to assist healing to the off-side and to complete the healing to the near side. Trauma that Tabitha has experienced has been held in the tissues (cellular memory) which the Reiki released from the cellular level.

Follow Up

When I did the last session with her, she was a changed horse. She had a bit more of a 'I don't really give a damn' attitude. Marilyn, her owner, has noticed that she is a bit more stroppy too. It is like she has suddenly grown into being 5 years old, and is feeling more complete.

The owner has also commented that she had noticed such a dramatic, positive improvement in Tabitha. She is very very happy with the results.

Tabitha let me work for quite a long time on the off side, which was amazing in itself. She really didn't fuss too much at all. This is the side that was taboo for her!! Cool huh.
