Hoss 2 days after Surgery

Background
• Hoss was diagnosed with cancer 6 months after coming to live with me.
• Prior he was career kennelled as a greyhound racer and for 6 months prior to adopting him he was kennelled with no activity due to a tendon injury.
• Hoss was a mess emotionally and was surviving on instinct. In hindsight it has taken more than a year for him to show true personality and he has only now become comfortable to start doing things on his own accord and not being afraid to figure things out.
Medical History/Treatment
Cancer terminal if not excised. Partial amputation of left upper jaw, teeth and pallet. Naturopathic treatment of Helixor.

Reiki Session 1 Treatment Purpose: To help reduce complications from Helixor injections Duration: 5min
Treatment over injection site - Hoss became uncomfortable.

Session 2 – next day Visual Changes: location site reduced in size Duration: 5min over the injection and surgery site Feedback: Hoss starting to physically accept Reiki

Session 3 – next day
Treatment Purpose: To help symptoms of Helixor injections and healing of jaw Duration: 5min over injection and surgery site Feedback: No swelling from injections. Hoss’s temperature returned to normal (can take 2-3 weeks). Tolerating increased injection doses. Jaw swelling reduced. I’m amazed after 3 days of Reiki and the turn around of the tolerance of the Helixor.

Session 4 – next day
Treatment Purpose: Surgical site to heal jaw Duration: 5min over injection and surgery site Feedback: Hoss will still only tolerate 5 min sessions.

Session 5 – following week
Treatment Purpose: Healing Duration: 5min over jaw and body Feedback: Hoss is enjoying the contact, but still only tolerating 5 mins. No adverse reactions to the Helixor. Hoss is now taking the injection once a week instead of daily.

3 months later
Feedback: Hoss is more comfortable eating with his jaw and doesn’t need food cut small to stop choking. He is now being given Helixor once a month and there are no signs of the cancer returning.

Helixor Vet Notes: Helixor stimulates the immune system to mount a response to the cancer and assist in preventing recurrence and the spread of the tumour. The temperature is taken twice daily after the injection which can cause a fever reaction.
